Redbird MCX – Full-Motion Flight Simulator

TRAINING FROM FIRST SOLO TO MULTI-CREW

OVERVIEW

The Redbird MCX is ideal for any flight school, providing enhanced training from student pilot to professional crew. The dual controls of the MCX allow an instructor, instructor-in-training, or co-pilot to perform maneuvers from the right seat. During initial pilot training, an instructor can demonstrate maneuvers from the right seat before the student tries their hand, just like you would do in the real airplane. For advanced training, the MCX provides a platform where crew training can be perfected.

In addition to the impressive features found on other Redbird full-motion simulators, the MCX includes a dual, control-loading yoke system and dual rudder pedals for simultaneous pilot and copilot control. When you add this dual control system to the MCX’s wrap-around visuals, quick-change cockpit configurations, and extensive government approvals, the MCX becomes a truly powerful training tool for any organization.

FEATURES

Training For Modern Crew Environments – The flight training industry is facing a huge demand for professional pilots to operate the airliners and business jets during the next wave of aviation growth. Most of these pilots will go to work in a crew environment from day one. It’s time we started teaching our students how to safely and effectively perform when they’ve got someone else in the cockpit with them. This is where the MCX shines. Its full dual control system allows you to put your students in real-world Crew Resource Management (CRM) situations well before they have 200+ passengers in the back.

Dual Controls for Better Training – The MCX is a dual yoke, dual rudder version of our FMX that is geared towards CRM and two pilot cockpit training. The yoke and rudder pedals are linked to each other, allowing students to feel the control pressures when their instructor demonstrates a maneuver or cockpit-crews-in-training to safely learn the importance of the statement “I have the controls”. With the MCX your school can offer a more effective simulator-centric training program for new pilots and experienced flight crews alike.

Motion For Everyone – The Redbird MCX comes equipped with our innovative, 3-axis, electric motion platform. This one-of-a-kind system provides effective motion feedback for yaw, pitch, and roll. The system is clean and quiet enough to operate in a small classroom, but robust enough to stand-up to years of hard use in a large professional pilot academy.

Total Pitch Movement – 50º    |    Total Yaw Movement – 60º    |    Total Roll Movement  – 40º

Immersive Visuals – In the past, simulators have been used almost exclusively for instrument instruction and a single screen was all you needed to show the runway when the student broke out at minimums. But why limit your customers’ training and your profit if you don’t have to? The Redbird MCX is a great primary training platform, thanks in large part to its expansive visual displays. You can still put’em in the soup if needed, but accurately simulating VFR flights opens up a huge range of uses for the MCX. Let a student practice turns-around-a-point or show them the highway they’ll pass over on their long cross-country. With a world-wide terrain database to support the 200° visuals, the MCX lets your customers experience the view from the cockpit before they ever leave the ground.

6 LED Screens ensures ultimate brightness even in well-lit areas

Loggable Time, Valuable Training – We are firm believers in simulation-centric training and we know the value of the MCX far outpaces the loggable hours, at the end of the day, we all want credit for our work. That’s why we made sure the MCX can be certified in just about any country. The FAA has approved it as an Advanced Aviation Training Device, it meets the requirements for EASA FNTP qualification, and many other authorities recognize the value of training in the MCX. Want more details about certification? We’ve got you covered.

Support, Education, Community – We’ve built a range of services to help you get the most out of your simulator and make your business more successful while delivering high-quality training to your customers. Not only do you get access to the latest Redbird advancements, you’ll become a member an active group of like-minded flight training professionals. No other aviation manufacturer can match the level of support and community provided by Redbird.
